Didja miss me?
I have been busy/missing my pup/did I say busy? Our daughter traveled home to have shoulder surgery. She could have had it near her house, but there was no one to take care of her. I was elected go-fer/slave/ice hauler for the week after surgery. She came thru with flying colors and returned to her real life yesterday. The only thing I miss is hauling ICE! Insurance paid for this nifty machine that circulates ice water thru a wrap. Only bad thing is that it took 5 lbs of ice to fill it up...every 3-4 hours! My small freezer was maxed out by 2 bags...so that meant daily ice runs. The 1st two nights were hard 30 mins on 30 mins off...but so worth all the work. She will be back to limited work tomorrow...
I have a dilemma to ask your opinion about...Recently I was searching for a specific pattern. The pattern maker is not important. I went to her site to see if I could find a local supplier. There was one close by with an address and a phone number. I called. The lady was surprised to find that her address was on the site. She sells online only. She had the pattern and offered it to me. I was impatient and drove out to her house to get it. (she would have mailed it if I wanted) When I got there, we chatted for at least 30 mins. I thought we hit it off...and she gave me (no payment she would accept) the pattern. She said she was looking for someone to do some machine quilting. I agreed to quilt in payment for the pattern. I gave her my phone number and e-mail address. I have e-mailed her twice...no answer...I even tried to call her again. No answer...no reply. I feel uncomfortable about taking this pattern. What would YOU do? I am considering just mailing her payment. I know about how much that pattern retails for. Would you keep it? try calling/writing/e-mailing again? I have looked at the pattern, but not used it in anyway. It would be easily repackaged and mailed off.
Thanks in advance for your advise...I'm glad to be back and ready to get going!

The pattern was a gift. Keep it. You made the offer of your quilting services. You can't do much more than that. A gift is a gift, enjoy it.

Enjoy it. It's nice to see you blogging again.
And I DID miss you!!
Keep the pattern, use it if you want. I am betting you will hear from her some day. Life happens and maybe she has been busy like you have. Yep, missed you!
Teri
She gave it to you and wouldn't take payment at the time, so I would use it with the knowledge that you have full intentions of quilting for her when she asks.
Yeah, I'd say the same. Let it go. Maybe something is going on with her. But she wanted to give it to you...so it would be a gift to her if you took it.
